As part of our topic work, we have been covering World WarII. Here are some artefacts kindly brought in by Daniel Rhodes.
I hope you have all had a great Christmas and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very happy new year!
Our daily literacy sessions this term will include work on adventure and mystery stories and shape poems including calligrams. Please make sure your child has their reading book with them every day.
In numeracy we will be working on problem solving, including word/money problems, and fractions. Our following area of study will be data handling and measures. Reading the time to the nearest 5 minutes, using both digital and analogue clocks will be a part of this.
In Science, we will be looking at Rocks & Soils. This will include identifying and classifying rocks, investigating the erosion of rocks and testing the permeability of soil.
This term for PE, gym and dance will be on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit in school at all times and that names are clearly marked on all items of clothing.
Homework will be given on Fridays, sent home in a yellow homework book. This must be returned by the following Wednesday, although if completed before then, it may be handed in earlier. Please remember to listen to your child read on a daily basis.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. After school is usually the most appropriate time.
In Science we have been studying the changing state of materials.
We have enjoyed making our Easter cones and Easter bunny cards.
